Welcome to Short and Sweet Miniature Horses! 

-We are a small, family owned Miniature Horse Farm in the beautiful Arkansas River Valley in Northwest Central Arkansas.  Short and Sweet was started by Dencil and Cheryl Ticer back in 2004, with a herd of 3 horses. Their goal was to breed small, well conformed horses, with super sweet temperments.  Their son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Isabella Ticer have taken up the mantle after Dencil passed away in 2014.  Isabella now manages and runs the day to day operations, as well as sales and marketing, and  Daniel works as the herd farrier and nurse, and helps with the lead rope and halter training along with their daugther Elyzabeth who is 12. Having a young helper working these babies really helps in getting them used to working with kids! The herd had grown to over 30 horses at its peak, but after we lost Dencil and prior to Dan and Isabella coming on board, Cheryl reduced the herd size. 

But we are pleased to report, that as of 2022, we are back up to over 12 mares, with 2 stallions, a gorgeous retiree and most handsome gelding and growing! 

We take pride in raising and selling the sweetest and most lovable miniature horses. All of our horses are AMHA or AMHR registrable, and are sure to be the sweetest minis you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting! From the beginning, Natural horse training techniques (sometimes called "horse whispering") have been used exclusively to train all foals. This results in a trusting, gentle horse, that is eager to partner with you and learn new things.
